Danielle Pickering attended chiropractic school at the University of Western States in Portland, Oregon and graduated in 2012. She completed her Master of Science in Exercise and Sport Science, allowing her to become a Certified Chiropractic Sports Practitioner (CCSP) through the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians.
She has since been trained in Active Release Technique (ART) and Graston Technique (a form of instrument-assisted soft tissue manipulation). Dr. Pickering has also completed the Complete Concussion Management Course to further her knowledge on how to treat concussions. Her own development as a practitioner is important to Danielle, and she continues to actively attend seminars and courses to improve her skills and knowledge to better serve her patients.
Danielle’s interest in chiropractic and sport medicine began when she was dealing with lower back and sacroiliac pain growing up as a competitive figure skater. Because of her experience with her own chiropractor, Dr. Campbell, she decided to pursue a Bachelor of Physical Education at the University of Alberta. During her time at the U of A, she had the opportunity to work as a receptionist at a local chiropractic and sports injury clinic which cemented her plan to continue her education at chiropractic school.
Once she completed chiropractic school she had the amazing opportunity to work with and learn from an accomplished group of chiropractors and therapists at one of the most established and revered clinics in Edmonton. She continued to practice there for seven years until 2020, when she opened breathe. health and performance to continue assisting people in achieving their goals.
